Vlog: The Evolution of a Title

You guys!  There's a vlog that's been sitting on my YouTube channel for almost two months, which I forgot to make public!  Oops.  (And by "forgot," I mean that I kept putting it off and then I forgot.)  But that has all been changed now!

Fun facts about this one:

1.  It was filmed at a park near my house at the end of the summer.  Summer!  *sob*

2.  Once again, there was street traffic, which kept making me have to stop and start over again and oh my goodness why do pretty places have to be so noisy???

3.  I didn't watch this one until today. Because you know how I feel about seeing myself/hearing my voice.  Auuuuuugggggghhhhhhh!

Vlog: What's in the Box? (Part 1)

Look! Another Vlog!  With all the book release and events excitement, I keep forgetting to post these.  But here you go!

Fun facts about this video:

1.  The theme is "What's in the Box?"  In it, I pull various mementos from boxes and discuss their significance.

2.  I haven't watched this vlog.  Back when I was posting these every other week during the summer, I was becoming desensitized to that whole seeing-and-hearing-myself-on-video thing.  As it turns out, just a few weeks of not doing it can make that anxiety come back with a vengeance.  And, in fact, the reason I didn't post this last week isn't because I kept "forgetting" like I stated above.  It was actually because I couldn't bring myself to watch it.

3.  However!  Even though I haven't watched it, I do remember it being the easiest of all the vlogs for me to complete.  Almost every scene was done in just one take.  As I recall, I was speaking more naturally and in a less rehearsed way.  Whether this comes across as better than the others, I don't have any idea.

4.  As it turned out, I had a lot to say about things in boxes.  There is a What's in the Box (Part 2) video coming out tomorrow!

5. One of the boxes that I discuss includes all of my items which are relevant to Freefall.  I think it's in Part 1 (since Part 1 is longer), but don't hold me to it, okay?

Vlog: Tour of "Kenburn" (in case you missed it).

During the Freefall blog tour a couple of weeks ago, this vlog was posted.  I intended to embed it here the next day as well, but things kind of got away from me.  I thought I'd go ahead and show it to you now, in case you missed it and didn't want to continue missing it.

Fun facts about this video:

1.  This is a mini-tour of the fictional town, Kenburn, where Freefall takes place.

2.  The particular locations shown here that make up some of "Kenburn" are located in Auburn/Pacific, Kenmore, Edmonds, and Olympia (all in Western Washington State) in real life.

3.  This was the first vlog that Intern Amanda and I shot together.  It was also only our second time ever having met.  (The first being the interview for the intern position.)  You can tell that I'm very self-conscious about blabbing to her about my book at these locations by the way that I don't even look at the camera for most of the filming.  We came a long way!

New Vlog: "Author Fashions"

In all the book trailer excitement, I almost forgot that it's Vlog Day, today.  But it is!

Fun facts about this video:

1.  The lighting is a little horrific, despite my efforts to make it otherwise.  I had the overhead light and FOUR lamps on room to try to brighten the room up.  Sigh.

2.  I keep feeling paranoid that I pronounced Maggie Stiefvater's last name wrong.  But I'm pretty sure she's said it's "STEVE-Otter."  Which is what I said.  I think....

3.  As with most of my vlogs, previewing this one caused Dwayne cover his face with what might have been discomfort at least once.  I understand the feeling.
