GalleyCat asked readers to nominate their favorite YA titles of 2010, and someone nominated Freefall. I'm so excited to see my book on such an amazing list! GalleyCat included a link to excerpts of all the books so that everyone can get a little sample of what they'll be in for if they pick up the recommended titles.
This week, on the Read My Old Diaries section of this site, 14-year-old Mindi gives her Love Interest, "Curt," a very bizarre gift indeed.
I recently did an interview with Stacked, a really cool blog run by three librarians. It was fun because all the questions and answers had to be Twitter-style in 140 characters or less! It was a pretty fun gig, writing for a website that doesn't belong to me. I mean, I was still writing about myself and my own opinions and such, of course. But when I post on my own blog/website/Twitter/etc., there is definitely a different tone. I tend to assume that the people who are reading my words at my own personal corners of the internet know me well (which actually isn't the case a lot of times, I'm sure). For LITFEST, I'm pretty sure that NO ONE knew me, so I kept that in mind for every essay.
