I'm leaving. Soon. I should be in bed since the shuttle is coming to get me in less than five hours. But! I was looking for a notebook to take in my carry-on just now. I found one from July 2004. It was the original notes for what become my first YA. The main character was going to be named Lorey (later changed to Carah). Her boyfriend was Jason (later changed to be her not boyfriend, Bobby). His brother was Sean (who didn't end up existing in the story).
My current manuscript, started July/August 2008 has a main character named Kae. Her husband is Jason. His brother is Sean!
I swear, I had no recollection of these former names. And, truly, I'm not even that big a fan of the name Jason! (Because of some past associations.) What a weird thing to find.
